Our Vision

Velvet Noses Horse Ministry connects horses with humans to educate, encourage and enrich the lives of both on the foundation of God’s love.

Our vision is to provide a safe environment to care for and connect with horses and begin to learn about them and learn from them. It is a place for families to enjoy the ranch and a peaceful atmosphere while we give educational lessons with God’s love. The goal is to learn and grow through positive reinforcement and encouraging words to promote personal growth in a relational environment. This can help those who may be struggling with low self-esteem, anxiety, loneliness, disconnection, and insecurities to name a few.

We envision a place for unwanted horses to be cared for, lovingly re-homed, and an essential part of the ministry.

Meet the Team!

We are a group of experienced animal lovers with like-minded hearts for helping both horses and humans. Through our faith we strive to serve and love what God has created.

“Changing lives one human and one horse at a time”

Darla Beeson

Darla Beeson has been volunteering with Velvet Noses Horse Ministry for three and a half years. She was born and raised in Stillwater, OK where she grew up in a Christian family and came to know the Lord personally at the young age of 8. God has shown His keeping power and grace throughout her whole life. Growing up she had four ponies and was asked by the neighbors to exercise their horses for trail riding, herding cows, and barrel racing. They were happy to have a horse crazy girl living next door to help keep their horses “tuned up”.

Darla recently retired from working in the education field as a school psychologist and principle for a school serving students with special needs. She believed her work in the school system was her mission field, and was blessed to have been able to support children, families, and educators as they worked to provide a supportive, joyful childhood, and educational environment for all.

Darla feels fortunate to be able to continue this mission with Libby and the herd at Velvet Noses Horse Ministry.

Miriam Temsamani

Miriam first visited Velvet Noses Horse Ministry December of 2024 and later began volunteering March of 2025. She has always had a love for horses. Miriam believes in building a relationship with horses based on trust not force, concentrating on a calm and efficient way of communicating with them. Miriam feels strong, that the Creator truly has blessed us with these beautiful animals, ‘they feed my soul’.

Miriam has a career working with children as a preschool teacher.

Amy

Amy is a board member, ranch hand, and organizer for the ministry. She has 4 grown children, has worked in professions such as finance, and the building industry. She is a strong believer in Jesus and is also leading Corral of Encouragement on the last Sunday of every month at Velvet Noses Horse Ministry.
