Meet the Herd

Rocky Road

Rocky is our pinto pony gelding who has been a part of our herd from the beginning and has been with us 18 years.  He had a rocky road before we found him. He was used as a hunting pony in Montana and was then passed around as a kids pony but had suffered some rough handling that caused him to be anxious. With a lot of tender loving care has recovered and has spent time with countless children. He is our espresso Pony because of his energy that never fails, well into his 20’s but not ready to retire.

Comanche

Comanche came to us at 4 years old as a re-homing horse with a leg injury.  We spent time rehabilitating him and soon realized he was a big puppy dog and loved kids.  He is a big, beautiful, sorrel paint gelding with excellent training and has proven to be a wonderful lesson horse. Comanche will be turning 10 this year.

LaKota Sioux

LaKota is our buckskin mustang mare.  She was rounded up from the wild with her family band in northern California at the young age of four months old in 1999. She was well-trained when she came to live with us and became Rocky's companion 17 years ago. She has had a wonderful journey learning to trust. She is patient and respectful to all the kids and continues to be a favorite because of her calm nature and sage wisdom.

Nike

Nike is our confident five-year-old Regal Icelandic gelding and is beginning to join our program with the kids. He seems to be in charge of the herd. He is calm and curious as Icelandic horses are.

La Luna

La Luna is the daughter of Lakota and is a buckskin paint mare. It was a dream to be able to breed Lakota and have a foal to raise, train, and ride. She has an extrovert personality, with a little spunk and is fun to ride for those with some experience.

Miss Cheyanne

Miss Cheyenne captured our hearts when she arrived as a six-month-old filly in April of 2020. She was a little shy at first but with all the love and care she is now gentle and fun with a sweet disposition. She can be spunky at times bucking and playing with the yoga ball and making friends with the herd. She has already become a part of the ministry and we hope she will grow into a great horse. We love her unique leopard spots! Miss Cheyanne is now in Hoof Camp and will be returning to the herd soon.

Mocha

Mocha is our chocolate Icelandic mare with the most beautiful blonde mane and tail. She loves to be groomed, braided, and decorated with bows and ribbons. She is very calm and caring towards the kids!

Talula

Talula is our 11-year-old Icelandic mare who joined the herd last year. She is cute, energetic, and has the most amazing smooth gait ever. That’s why these “Icy Teddy Bears” are so much fun to ride!
